The Arizona Law Enforcement K-9 Memorial is dedicated to the memory of Police service dogs lost in the line of Duty. azk9memorial.com was started to help raise money to build the k-9 memorial and keep the memories of our fallen partners alive. This site will continue so that all can share in a small portion of the lives of our Fallen Partners.

The relationship between a police canine, the handler, and the Department is one of the most unique in existence, based as it is on the understanding that the dog may be required to sacrifice its life to save a citizen or an officer. Understanding this sacrifice does not lessen the strong bond that develops between dog and handler, and which extends to the officer's family as well as every member of the Police Department.

Police service dogs put their lives on the line everyday to protect not just their human partners, but all other Police Officers and the public as well. These fallen Officers deserve the recognition that the memorial will bring them. No public money could be used for this memorial so, we had raise the money ourselves, via donations. Without the support of our many sponsors, the people who have done so much to help us raise money, and the wonderful people who have donated, it would never have become a reality. Even though the money has been raised to build the memorial, it is up to us to keep it looking great. We need to have money for upkeep, and additions to the memorial. The sculpture is a life sized replica of a Canine Officer German Shepherd, in bronze, mounted on a granite boulder slab and accompanying masonry base. The sculpture will be approximately 4 feet tall and will cost approximately $40,000.00.

The memorial will be built in Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza in Phoenix. Named after a former Arizona governor, Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza stands adjacent to the State Capitol Museum in downtown Phoenix. Visit the Memorial Plaza page for more information, pictures, and directions.
