I SPENT 20 YEARS IN THE US AIR FORCE AND 14.5 IN SECURITY POLICE. A K-9 TEAM IS A PARTNERSHIP OF LOVE AND DETERMINATION TO BEING A SINGLE SELF. THE TRUST AND LOVE THAT EACH SHARE BETWEN ONE ANOTHER CAN NEVER BE BROKEN. AS THE ANNIVERSARY OF 9-11 APPROACHES, I REFLECT ON OFFICER KIM OF THE PROT AUTHORITY POLICE WHOSE CONCERN WAS TO FIND HIS PARTNER ALONG WITH THE OTHER REQUIREMENTS AT HAND. I WORKED KENNEL SUPPORT AT ANDREWS AND BOLLING AFB AND MY BEST FRIENDS ON A MIDNIGHT SHIFT WERE RAMBO, CHIEF, AND BOTH OF THE CRAZY WHITE SHEPHERD MAXES. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT ALL OF THE TEAMS ALWAYS. Added: September 4, 2005

It breaks my heart everytime I hear about a police dog killed in the line of duty. I have a Belgium Malinois at home named King that would do anything for my family; especially make us laugh. "RJ" and his partner are in our prayers. Added: August 16, 2005

The site and the Memorial are an outstanding tribute to those in the law enforcement agencies that work the hardest and receive the least recognition. That being the K9's themselves. No other partner will so willingly or so rapidly give his/her life so that partner may live. Added: February 13, 2005

I want to thank the staff at aleca and all the people who have given to this worthy effort. I also want to say thank you to all the Officers past and present who have been and are K-9 handlers. Your dedication to helping the public and the extra effort that is involved in being a handler. The extra that the public never sees is known to me. As a handler for Scottsdale Healthcare I know the joy of having my K-9 partner. I wish I could do more to pay tribute to the heros that the dogs are. Added: December 29, 2004

My father was the handler of JOS who passed a few years ago and I am so thankful that there will finally be a memorial set up for these fantastic animals. Not many people know or understand what they do and have to go thru and how important they are. They do so many things that help protect us and dont think twice about stepping into danger. They are proud and full of courage and should be remembered as such and not forgotten.

Thank you again. Added: November 26, 2004

I am so excited to have the opportunity to begin a humane education club on the campus of the new high school in Anthem known as Boulder Creek. The students of this club look forward to working for the sake of this memorial and hopefully provide a donation that can a**t in that process. The Canine unit is very dear to their heart as many of these students plan on working with animals in the future. God bless the K-9 Unit and all of those that have passed on. The story of each k9 was heartbreaking and I think there should also be a simple list that also shows the ones who served and retired as well so that there is a positive list too.
If you had T shirts for your fund raisers I think they would sell well I know I would buy one and it's possible that a local company would donate the shirts or at least offer a substantial discount for your cause, it couldn't hurt to ask around, Good luck. Added: September 20, 2004
